BLOOD PRESSURE blood pressure  What is blood pressure? w hen your heart beats, it pumps blood round your body to give it the energy and oxygen it needs. As the blood moves, it pushes against the sides of the blood vessels. The strength of this pushing is your blood pressure. If your blood pressure is too high, it puts extra strain on your arteries (and your heart) and this may lead to heart attacks and strokes     Tow  type blood pressure 1 - systolic bp :   120/80 mm Hg. The top number refers to the amount of  pressure  in your arteries during the contraction of your heart muscle. This is called  systolic pressure . The bottom number refers to your  blood pressure  when your heart muscle is between beats.                                 Coronavirus  (COVID-19) Coronaviruses  are a group of related viruses  that cause diseases in mammals  and birds . In humans, coronaviruses cause  respiratory tract infections  that can range from mild to lethal. Mild illnesses include some cases of the common cold  (which has other possible causes, predominantly rhinoviruses  ), while more lethal varieties can cause SARS, MERS , and covid-19 . Symptoms in other species vary: in chickens, they cause an upper respiratory tract disease  , while in cows and pigs they cause diarrhea  . There are yet to be vaccines or antivira  drugs  to prevent or treat human coronavirus infections. Discovery  Coronaviruses were first discovered in the 1930s when an acute respiratory infection of domesticated chickens was shown to be caused by  infectious bronchitis virus  (IBV). In the 1940s, two more animal coronaviruses,  mouse hepatitis virus  (MHV) and transmissible gastr
